The Pennsylvania Optometric Association has been in recent communications with the leadership of the Pennsylvania Academy of Ophthalmology to identify areas of agreement in which the two organizations can work together. Low vision is one of these areas, as low vision rehabilitation is the standard of care recommended by the American Academy of Ophthalmology, which says that ophthalmologists should refer for vision rehabilitation for patients with vision loss.
