Salus University invites you to a Continuing Education Course in Ophthalmic Laser Procedures for the Anterior Segment. This is a hybrid program, featuring 12 hours of virtual asynchrous lectures and a 4-hour in-person hands-on workshop.

This program is pending COPE approval for 16 Continuing Education credits.

It will cover anterior segment laser surgical evaluation including pre-operative candidate selection, pre-surgical testing, and patient counseling and preparation are explained. Additional topics include:

  • Basic laser physics and tissue interactions
  • Laser safety and hazards
  • Indications and contraindications for specific anterior segment laser procedures

Laser procedure protocols and implementing anterior segment laser procedures in the optometric practice are also discussed. Additionally, postoperative care and management of complications are reviewed.

The asynchronous lectures will be available for viewing beginning Tuesday, November 1st. The four-hour hands-on session will be held on Saturday, December 3 and/or Sunday, December 4 on the campus of Salus University.
